Overview

How I got started

In 2000, I assisted a friend in starting a BMX racing team for our church youth group. The only stipulation was that I had to race with this team. So, my first racing bike was a 1999 Redline `John Purse` Signature Pro Cruiser that I wrecked in almost every race I competed that first year. The bike held together alot better than I did that first year as I went through 2 helmets my first year of racing. But, I`m glad I started this sport as it has been a joy to go racing with my son on weekends. It`s something that the 2 of us can do together as father & son!

Goals for the Future

For 2006, myself and a friend of mine will be starting a new team primarily for the local scene in the state of Oklahoma. I hope to improve my overall state championship series finish for `06 with a #1. Also, I plan on making some of my mains at select ABA Nationals as I do have a difficult 36-40 Cruiser class. In addition, I plan on getting a new Supercross 20" to start up my racing in the 36 & Over-Intermediate class as well.

Bio

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

Several times at the Sand Springs BMX track during practice nights, I tried getting a quick snap on the gate but was just a split-second too early and ended up flipping over the starting gate. The incident was pretty amusing for all the little kids and my son!

Some Personal Information About Me:

Been married to my wife, Angela, for 6 years. We have 3 kids.....Chris(13 yrs).....Morgan(4 yrs).....and Jalynn(2 yr).

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

There`s not alot of time in my life-stlye for training. I go for daily-evening rides with my son to keep the legs, somewhat, conditioned and attend practice nights at our local track about every other week.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

Yes, I do like to travel. Did alot of traveling while I was serving with the United States Marine Corps. Enjoyed my time spent on Okinawa Island off the coast of Japan and had a blast on my deployments to South Korea. Wile stationed in North Carolina, I took a trip to New York City during Thanksgiving.....won`t do that again! Too many people!

Employment / Experience Summary

I currently work as a Bio-Medical Technician II for a company in Wichita, Kansas called Medical Equipment Services of Kansas, Inc.

Competitive Highlights

2005.....Placed 2nd at the Oklahoma State Finals in Yukon, OK. and took the overall 2nd place finish for state. At the Redline Gold Cup Qualifier in Wichita, KS., I placed 2nd in the 36-40 Cruiser class. It was a great finish on one of those sub-100 degree Kansas afternoons in mid-June.

2003.....I finally racked up enough wins to turn Intermediate two months before the `03 ABA Grand Nationals.
