These Supercross races are only one day events and for '06 there were only two Supercross races on the schedule. The one in San Jose, CA that was in conjuction with the Dew Tour a few weeks ago and this race in France. Since I placed 2nd at the race in San Jose I knew to get the Overall BMX Supercross Cup I would just have to have another solid race this weekend. All of these Supercross races carry a Category 2 ranking for Olympic points so they are just behind the World Championships in importance.
Everything ran smooth in motos for me and I found myself in the main event. I put together the best lap I had all day and held off Michal Prokop (who placed 1st in San Jose) for the win. Both Prokop and I had a 1st and 2nd place finish at each round but because I won the final round I took the tie-breaker for the Overall BMX Supercross Series. I am so excited I won the race and the title.
