training 4-2-9

Wednesday night was practice night. I rolled out to Black Mountain a little early to get the class bike fixed. One new spider, gear and four chain ring bolts later it was ready to go. Johnny Little and my good friend Josh Ship also showed up. Josh and I did some gates together. Johnny’s back was still sore so he took it easy. I also took it a little easy because I wasn’t used to the bike or the platform pedals. Snapped out then shut it down after the first jump. Every lap my feet felt like they were going to come off the pedals. I’m also finding that I’m twisting the bike on the first pedal. Tonight I will be doing sprints on it so that should correct it. Maybe not rite away, but after a few sessions I should see a difference.

So I went home and did sprints. 3 laps around the block to warm up. Ten second pedal sprints. 3 sets of ten for 60 feet. I decided to record the session to see how i was doing. I found that I'm dropping my right shoulder on my first pedal. The bike twists a little, I'm not sure if it's a strength this or if I do it because of my previous back problems. I'm trying to compress the video file so I can down load it, this way I can have Greg watch it and tell me what he thinks.

I didn't get to bed on time last night so getting to the gym this morning didn't happen. My back is feeling the sprints from last night. Tonight are more sprints and plyo metric jumps. The back should feel good by then so I shouldn't hurt myself. No track tonight, just Estrella Mountain Saturday.
