2008
Well, 2008 is over. I accomplished my main goal and that was to finish in the top ten for my age group. I finished NAG #6. It was a fun year. Thanfully, we have a strong local program here in Louisiana with Gretna BMX Raceway and that allowed me to ride a national caliber track year round. Without my local track, I would not have been able to achieve my goal for 2008. I'm really looking forward for 2009. My goal will be to finish in the top five for my age group and after that, who knows? I would like to think I will progress enough in 2009 to turn Vet Pro in 2010 and run that a year or two before I retire for good. I still have no major sponsor, which is not a real big deal for me. I am fortunate enough to have a career that allows me to get myself to and from races but if someone is looking for a good representative to push their product(s), please contact me. Good luck to everyone in 2009. Thanks for checking out my page. See ya in Reno!

Past, Present and Future:
I started racing BMX in 1981. I received a factory sponsorship with Raleigh in 1984. I finished National #2 in 1985 (NBL). I stopped racing in 1986 to further my education. I intended to return to racing after college but it did not happen until 2006. I returned to BMX as an expert after a 20 year absence. My first full season back was this year (2007). I won one national this year (Super Nationals - Desoto, TX) in 36 and over expert. I finished this year Nat #190 in the ABA. My goal for 2008 will be to finish top ten NAG as a 36 and over expert.
Since returning to BMX from a 20 year layoff, I have been impressed and shocked by the evolution of the sport and it's competitors. The talent now compared to the 80's is like night and day. There are so many good people involved in BMX. I'm glad to be back in the sport and I'm looking forward to 2008. |
